General:
The family story is that she went from Ireland to England as a domestic, and met John Hooper, but the problem with that is that she was actually born in England.
The story, however, appears to fit Mary's mother, Catherine Cash.
Upon her husband John's death 1/30/1888, she had 4 young children aged 7, 6, 3 and 8 months. The story per her youngest child Philip was that Stephan Morant agreed to mary her, but only if she got rid of her children. Forty seven days after John's death, she married Stephan. As per the 1891 census, she managed to keep 2 of the children, Esther and Philip while Kate and Harry were gone.
In her marrage with Stephan she had 5 children of which one (William) died at 8 months of age. When she died in 1905 she left 4 children aged 12, 11, 6 and 2.
