General:

Floyd Dale Stimmel, 78 year-old Mooreland farmer and rancher died early Monday June 11, 1990 at his home southwest of Mooreland. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Woodward First Baptist Church with Dr. Russell Duck officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Woodward V.F.W. post #1335. All services are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Floyd Dale Stimmel was born August 11, 1911 southwest of Mooreland. He was the son of Francis and Elnora Stimmel. He was born on the homeplace he has lived there most of his life. He attended Sunnyside School and Mooerland High School. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on April 16, 1942 and served at the Station Hospital Port of Embarkation in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was in the Medical Corp, and served with the 69th Field Hospital in Okinawa. He obtained the rank of Medical Tech. 5th Grade and was discharged in January of 1946. On August 10, 1946 he was married to Ellen Beauman in the First Baptist Church of Monroe Michigan. They lived in Michigan for a time then moved back to the farm where he has lived since.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodward. He was also a charter member of the Woodward V.F.W. Post #1335.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Stimmel of the home; Linda Pruitt and husband, Larry; one granddaughter, Danielle Pruitt; one brother, Lloyd Stimmel and wife, Ida, all of Mooreland; five sisters, Mrs. Viola Walker, Protection, KS.; Mrs. Frances Maupin, Woodward; Mrs. Faye Colby, Redwood City, CA.; Mrs. Jesse Johnson, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Edith Morgan, Mutual, OK.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen, who died January 24, 1980, and one sister Nelle, and his parents.
